The Brockman FUNdRUN, held in early November, is the PTO’s major fundraiser for the year. We have intentionally moved away from wrapping paper, cookie dough, and other product sales that don’t fit in with our school philosophy. For 4 years, we have run the campaign entirely through volunteers, so we do not have to share any of our profits. Our students and community enjoy learning about healthy habits as they prepare for the run at the culmination of the fundraiser. We consistently need more than 20 volunteers with this effort, which everything from putting together pledge packets, writing communications, acquiring sponsors, setting up for it, running special days like yoga day, smoothie day and hula hoop day. We appreciate any way that you can help us with this big effort, which we hope will help support playground renovation over the next several years.
The other big school-wide fundaiser is the Fine Arts Booster Annual Art Auction. This fundraiser pays for fine arts instruction like dance and drama instruction during the school day, as well as Arts Infusion days. Without this fundraiser, our students would not get this special and important instruction and exposure. Work for the auction lasts about 3 months, and culminates is a fun evening for adults. We know that acquiring donations does not come naturally to everyone, however, we challenge you to be involved. Please view the other tab under fundraising, Fine Arts Booster, for more information.
Here are some EASY ways YOU CAN HELP raise money for Brockman:
- Publix: Shoppers can become a Publix Partner by signing up at www.Publix.com/partners and selecting a school (Brockman Elementary), then entering your phone number at checkout (NOTE: Publix is moving away from their previous system of using a Publix card as of October 1, 2018, so you must use this new method). A portion of your bill will be donated to Brockman PTO – we raised $222 for our school last quarter and over $20,000 since the program’s inception! Also, relatives living in select counties of SC, GA, NC, AL, and TN can participate at their local Publix to benefit Brockman.
- Kroger: Shoppers can enroll in Kroger Community Rewards using their Kroger Plus Card. Please visit www.krogercommunityrewards.com to enroll, choosing Brockman Elementary PTO. Grandparents and extended family members living locally or elsewhere in SC, GA, and Lower AL Kroger Stores can also help.
- Lowes Foods: Shoppers can participate in the Cart to Class Program by picking up a Lowes Foods card in store, then visiting http://www.lowesfoods.com/back-2-schools for more information on the program and to link your card to your preferred school (Brockman Elementary). Schools are rewarded based on purchases of Lowes Foods Private label items and other eligible purchases.
- Marco’s Pizza Challenge: When parents, friends or relatives order pizza online from the Forest Acres Marco’s Pizza, https://store8373.marcos.com/ordering/menu/Pizzas, simply add Brockman Elementary to the order at checkout. Pizza points will be awarded for any online order, however double points are awarded the first Monday of every month, on “Marco’s Mondays” (Pizza points for call-in or walk-in orders are only earned on “Marco’s Mondays”). Monthly and yearly monetary prizes are awarded to schools based on pizza points (schools are weighted based on size). Please keep orders affiliated with Brockman Elementary to after-school hours in order to maintain our healthy school guidelines, thank you!
- Family Meal Nights: Watch the Bear Tracks and PTO newsletter for details on upcoming Family Meal Nights. Join other Brockman families at the specified restaurant on a particular date and time. Enjoy some fun and fellowship and support our local businesses, who then give a portion of sales from that evening back to our school.
- Box Tops for Education: Clip and save the box tops on your cereal, granola bars, ziplock bags, Kleenex or any packaging with the logo. Our collection box is located in the front hallway of the school.
- Hanes T-shirts: Does your company have t-shirts printed? Hanes T-shirts can accumulate box tops. If your company orders t-shirts, you can donate your invoice to Brockman PTO and we will submit them for our box tops credit.
